Leading the Industry in Zero Lead Compliance
With the passage of California’s AB 1953, which requires all plumbing fittings to contain essentially no lead by 2010, many of our competitors are scrambling to make their products compatible with the new law.
But at Viega, an innovative spirit has made the transition manageable. That’s because the majority of Viega products already meet AB 1953’s requirements.
Viega has always been committed to providing clean, safe, healthy drinking water delivery systems. So you can be confident that when you’re specifying Viega products, you’re getting products that meet and exceed the most stringent lead-free requirements.
Products
Because copper is naturally lead-free, all Viega ProPress copper products inherently comply with all Zero Lead legislation. ProPress Bronze 1/2" -2" products will be produced from Viega’s new Zero Lead silicon bronze alloy (Copper Alloy UNS No. C87700).
ProPress 1/2"-2" valves will be produced from a Zero Lead alloy. Viega XLC 2-1/2" to 4" fittings provide a lead-free solution for large-diameter tubing installations.
Under the PureFlow offering, MANABLOC® (PolyAlloy™ and Compression), PolyAlloy fittings and all PEX tubing do not contain any lead, thus comply with the new legislation. Bronze PEX Press fittings and MANABLOC Press connections will now be produced from a lead-free bronze, and Brass PEX Crimp fittings and MANABLOC Crimp connections will be produced from EcoBrass® — a dezincification-resistant, lead-free brass.
