Viega is a family-owned and operated company in the truest sense of the word. During its history, Viega has continued to grow and expand its core international business as the technology leader in installation technology. In the United States, Canada, Mexico and Latin America, Viega specializes in heating, plumbing, industrial and shipbuilding technologies. The values of Viega’s founder, Franz-Anselm Viegener, are just as present today as they were when he started the company in 1899. Courage, passion and innovative spirit are still the basics of Viega's success today.
History
It all started with the pour of a nice brew. In 1899, Viega’s first product offering was a brass beer tap. By 1901, the company evolved and began manufacturing home plumbing products. But the North American story really began in 1999, when the family-owned Viega decided to offer a selection of Viega products in the United States.
With more than 16,000 products offered worldwide, all of Viega’s systems can be combined to make the work of the contractor faster, easier, environmentally friendly and safe. Viega has always offered a full line of Zero Lead products, and now with the new Zero Lead bronze, Eco Brass®, and Viega alloys, it continues to lead the industry in Zero Lead components.
Known for innovative offerings such as the ProPress copper system, ProRadiant heating, ViegaPEX tubing and the MANABLOC water distribution system, Viega was able to combine European and American technologies to create a new standard of quality.
Headquartered in Wichita, Kan., Viega delivers not only the highest-quality systems available, and the most knowledgeable sales and support staff from America’s heartland, but the best education in the industry. By opening its first North American Educational Facility in Nashua, N.H., in 2006, Viega offers a comprehensive range of training courses from one-day workshops to extensive three-day programs. Dedicated to offering the best education in the industry, Viega is one of the first manufacturers to offer continuing education credits through its training program.
Viega’s investment in North America continues to grow, with the 2009 opening of its new 439,000-square-foot Manufacturing and Distribution Center.
The power of innovation has been the secret to Viega’s success during the past 110 years and it will guide the company into the future.
